    so.. it's been a while...

well, the semester has come and gone, and here i am sitting next to our fragrant christmas tree thinking about all the people in my life and how glad i am to have all of my loving friends and family. i just wanted to let you all know that i think about you daily, when i don't get to see you, i miss you and when i know i will get to see you, i look forward to it more than words can express. Basically, what i'm getting around to is that i appreciate you all and the gifts you give me daily just by being in my life... Merry Christmas!

  • no more post office....

so yeah.. today as i was delivering the route i was on, my supervisors came and found me, telling me that someone "called about me" and that i needed to stop delivering and they needed to "investigate" it.
this investigation basically was taking me back to the office, sitting me down and saying that a postal employee (not from our office, also not a carrier or clerk <which means he/she is a 'big wig') called and said they saw me driving with out a seatbelt, and with the door open, which has happened if i was going like 2 houses up the street to deliver a package or something... but they also said that i was in the back of the truck while the truck was running...i am not an idiot. i never ever ever do that!!! so basically i'm probably gonna get fired for not wearing a seatbelt- its pretty lame, i know.
anyway, i'm not terribly upset about losing the job, i hated it. but i'm kind of pissed that it 'went down' like that, oh well theres not too much i can do about it... so i've decided not to worry about it.
    yeah...

so i know i'm a bit over due in updating, but i've honestly had no time. after tour, the was great, we had to sing for baccalaureate, then the very next day i started my summer job.
for those of you who don't know i am an official employee of the united states postal service- yes, i deliver mail. the pay is great, but not nearly good enough for the shit i have to do. its not just me, all letter carriers' lives suck, fact. (please, for my sake, treat your mail (wo)man well... give him/her a bottle of water next time you see them on a hot summer day, and for goodness sake- think about it, if you have trouble getting mail out of your mailbox, think about the trouble we have of getting it in there! oh, also, mail slots suck!)
so this is why i am not able to update as frequently as i would like to... any way, nothing terribly exciting... i live for the weekends (all 1 day that i get) they rock!!!
thats pretty much all for now...

anyways... the chorus concert is sunday, that means lots of rehearsals, but good news- it hasn't been horrible!
so yeah... this semester is almost over, and i can't believe it! where has the time gone?!? but i'm a little relieved to tell the truth... despite not knowing what i'm doing over the summer (much like someone else i know) i'm looking forward to it! bring on the sun!
well i think i might go to bed...

  • $1,100 Later....

so i told mom about the computer. we promptly took it to best buy to see what exactly was wrong with it.This is kind of how it went:

we walked in the sliding doors, laptop in hand and looking somewhat drained from the day. we stepped up to the 'Geek Squad' window anxious about what we would soon learn. the young man (with some kind of large holed pierced ears) kindly asked "How may I help you?" a simple enough question, and i responded accordingly. after he ran about as many tests as he knew, he asked a fellow colleague ( Paul) for advice. Paul promptly took over and explained to mother and i the full extent of the problems. we cautiously asked "How much is that all going to cost?" they ran the figures, wrote it down and meekly slid the slip across the counter top. at the sight of the astounding numbers, mom just said "Wouldn't it just be smarter to buy a new computer?!? What do you think? What would you do, Paul?" At this Paul, put on the spot, cleared his throat and said something to the affect of 'Well it is the smarter thing to do...' then, a light bulb moment. Paul quickly asked what kind of processor my computer had, then disappeared behind the large metal shelving units. He came back after a few minutes and asked us if we could please follow him, we did. We found ourselves in the computer section of the store where he showed us comparable computers. We decided on one that was much better than the computer that i had, but only a hundred dollars more than the one that was the same as the dead one. The only problem was that this computer was not in-stock, so they looked it up and it wasn't in the warehouse either. So mom got the bright idea of checking the the store in morgantown ( since none of the other area stores had it either) Morgantown showed that they did in fact have 7 of these computers, but since "sometimes what the computer shows is inaccurate" they called down to check. It just so happens that there are managers (from the bethel store) at the morgantown store for training and that they could bring one up for us tonight. So we proceed to the checkout, nothing in hand and are charged over $1,000 for my new computer (that i will get tomorrow) And this is cheaper than the repairs on my computer.

Moral of the story: ALWAYS get the extended warranty
                                                          and
go to best buy when you need help with something electronic, because (if you bought it there or not- in my case not) they will help you to the best of their ability with kind and worthwhile service.
